3rd SLAM Workshop successfully held

On June 5th and 6th, 2025, the third Quantum Frontiers Workshop on "Structured Light and Matter" took place at the PTB Campus in Braunschweig. In its third iteration, it has firmly established itself as a vital platform for the exchange of ideas among cluster scientists and external experts.

The event attracted approximately 40 participants from both experimental and theoretical backgrounds, offering a valuable opportunity for in-depth discussions and fruitful exchanges on the latest challenges and advancements in the research of structured light and matter.

This year's workshop focused on current issues related to the production, fundamental properties, and applications of structured light and particle beams. Particular focus was placed on topics such as the topological properties of light, ultrashort structured light pulses, the propagation of structured light in magnetized media, the control of transitions in atomic clocks, as well as vortex electrons and neutrons and their applications.

Participants particularly valued the workshop's ability to provide not just a forum for academic exchange but also new impulses for future scientific collaboration.

The event, organized by Andrey Surzhykov, Gudrun Wanner, and Peter Lemmens, was a great success. Plans are already underway for a continuation in 2026.
