18 and 27 March
The formulation of quantum mechanics a hundred years ago laid a lasting foundation for our physical understanding of nature. For this reason, the UN General Assembly has proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.
This year-long global initiative has honoured the pioneering contributions of quantum science to technological progress over the past 100 years and raised global awareness of its importance for achieving sustainable development in the 21st century.
As a cluster of Excellence we took this as a welcome opportunity to present us and our research in many different ways throughout the year: we brought science and art together, sang at concerts and held open days. We gave lectures, attended city festivals, launched political initiatives, screened films and much more. It was truly an extraordinary year.
