APS March Meeting 2023 in Las Vegas

For six days, Las Vegas became Science City instead of Sin City.

The joint stand of "Research in Germany".

The March Meeting of the American Physical Society (APS March Meeting) from 5 to 10 March in Las Vehas is one of the major physics conferences of 2023. As one of seven German Clusters of Excellence in the field of quantum research, QuantumFrontiers represented the Quantum Alliance at the international physics meeting. With an appearance at the joint stand of "Research in Germany", the Quantum Alliance showed its excellent research. On the one hand as a starting point for international cooperation, but above all as a career path for physicists: From students to established professors, the stand attracted the attention of the approximately 12,500 conference participants.

In order to do justice to the great interest in physics in and from Germany, "Research in Germany" gathered other representatives from research, funding and application alongside the Quantum Alliance for a joint presence at the APS March Meeting 2023: The German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the Max Planck Society (MPG), the Max Planck School of Photonics (MPSP), the German Physical Society (DPG), the Fraunhofer Society and the Munich Quantum Valley. Together, the institutions provided concrete assistance to help international talents start a physics career in Germany.

In addition to the presence at the exhibition at the entrance to the APS March Meetings, the delegation of "Research in Germany" welcomed interested guests at the workshop "Play your cards right with 'Research in Germany'". At the theme tables of the institutions, conference visitors were able to discuss their questions about the German research landscape directly with international researchers who have already made it to Germany.

In addition, Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS), Lower Saxony's network for quantum technologies, was present at the major event in Las Vegas: With a contribution to APS TV, QVLS appeared for the conference guests attendees not only on screens in the conference centre. Even in the fully booked hotel rooms received the image video from Lower Saxony.
