Kick-off for the state-funded start-up program of PTB, TU and business development Kick-off for Braunschweig’s new start-up program for high-tech and deep-tech start-ups: Ten teams have started in the QIMP High-Tech Incubator, which Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH has launched together with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and the TU Braunschweig. The program is funded by the state of Lower Saxony with up to 500,000 euros annually until the end of 2028, co-financed by the European Union. In addition, a total of around 8 million euros is available for up to 30 selected start-ups to help them grow.

The name QIMP High-Tech Incubator stands for the four central subject areas that the new program addresses and in which Brunswick and the region have great potential thanks to their unique research environment: Quantum Technologies, Information Technology, Mobility and Production Technology.

As partners of Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH , PTB and TU Brunswick are actively involved in the QIMP High-Tech Incubator with their scientific excellence and technological infrastructure. The project is also supported by a broad network of regional and national players from the Lower Saxony start-up ecosystem, such as the Innovation Society of the TU Brunswick (iTUBS) and the Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS).

In addition to professional coaching, the initiators want to use the funding to specifically close a financing gap that many start-ups face. The so-called ‘Valley of Death’ is often home to high-tech and deep-tech start-ups in particular, which are already generating their first sales but have no capital for rapid growth.

A high-caliber jury – consisting of representatives from PTB, TU Brunswick, the business development agency, regional SMEs, NBank and the state initiative Niedersachsen.next Startup – selected ten particularly innovative companies from 25 applications. These start-ups will receive targeted support in the first round of the QIMP High-Tech Incubator in order to further develop their pioneering technologies and successfully establish them on the market.
