Talk by Patrik Recher (TU Braunschweig) - Noise properties of Majorana bound states
I give an overview on our work on transport properties of Majorana bound states (MBSs) appearing at the edge of topological superconductors (TSCs). These non-Abelian quasiparticles are potential candidates for a topological qubit. However, so far, their existence has not been confirmed conclusively. Noise properties are well suited to investigate correlations between pairs of MBSs. We have developed a general framework of full counting statistics of networks of MBSs [1]. More recently, we have applied a Master equation approach allowing for the investigation of quasiparticle poisoning randomly flipping the parity of the nonlocal fermion comprised by two coupled MBSs leading to a giant Fano factor at low bias voltages [2]. We also suggested a new platform of TSC pn-junctions containing optical quantum dots which is well suited to detect (correlations of) Majorona spin-properties via the polarization-resolved photonic noise [3,4].
