The March Meeting of the American Physical Society (APS March Meeting) from 3 to 8 March in Minneapolis is one of the major physics conferences in 2024. As one of eight members of the Quantum Alliance, QuantumFrontiers represented Germany’s research in the fields of quantum science and technologies at the international conference. The Quantum Alliance showcased its excellent research at the joint "Research in Germany" stand. On the one hand as a starting point for international cooperation, but above all in the competition for the best international talent in physics: From students to established professors, the presence at the stand attracted the attention of around 13,000 conference attendees.
To do justice to the great interest in physics in and from Germany, the DFG initiative "Research in Germany" brought together other representatives from research, funding and application alongside the Quantum Alliance for a joint presence at the APS March Meeting 2023: The German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Max Planck Society (MPG), the German Physical Society (DPG) and the Fraunhofer Society. Together, the institutions provided practical support for international talents starting an academic career in Germany and helped them find job offers and scholarships.
