The Next-Level Metrology (NLM) research area positions QuantumFrontiers at the forefront of advancing innovative measurement applications on an international scale. Based on the concepts developed in Quantum Concepts (QC) and the scaling solutions from Scaling Quantum Systems (SQS), NLM's work centres on the development of next-generation quantum sensors for a variety of applications.

  • Quantum sensors for geodesy, both on the ground and in space.
  • Tools and methods for testing relativity and quantum mechanics principles.
  • Innovative approaches for the search for Dark Matter using optical clock networks.
  • Development of gravitational wave detectors.
  • Pioneering work in electrical quantum metrology,  focused on testing the closure of the quantum metrological triangle.
