Next-Level Metrology (NLM)

The Next-Level Metrology (NLM) research area comprises six focal topics (NLM1 - NLM6) that position QuantumFrontiers at the forefront of advancing innovative measurement applications on an international scale. Building on the concepts developed in Quantum Concepts (QC) and the scaling solutions from Scaling Quantum Systems (SQS), our work focuses on establishing cutting-edge quantum sensors for a variety of applications. 

Key Applications:

  • Quantum sensors for geodesy, both on the ground and in space.
  • Tools and methods for testing relativity and quantum mechanics principles.
  • Innovative approaches for the search for Dark Matter using optical clock networks.
  • Development of gravitational wave detectors.

Additionally, this research area is supported by pioneering work in electrical quantum metrology, aimed at testing the closure of the quantum metrological triangle. NLM is committed to transforming the field of metrology through quantum advancements, driving the development of next-generation measurement standards and techniques.
